Pinch ("Pinch", "we", "us") makes a kitchen-timer app that helps you coordinate cooking. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to what the app needs to work.

Information we collect

Account information

If you create an account or sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an account identifier and, where you provide it, your email address and display name. Sign in with Apple may provide a private relay email if you choose to hide your address.

Your cooking content

Food items, meals, and cooking history you create are stored so the app can show them back to you. If you subscribe to Pinch Pro, this content is synced to the cloud across your devices.

Usage & diagnostics

We collect anonymous product-analytics events (for example, which screens are used) and crash reports to find and fix problems. This data is tied to a random device or installation identifier, not to your name.

Purchases

When you buy a subscription, Apple processes the payment. We receive your subscription status (active, expired) through our payments provider so we can unlock Pro features. We never receive your full card details.

Service providers

We use trusted third parties to operate the app, each acting under their own privacy terms:

Google Firebase — authentication, cloud database (Firestore), and crash reporting (Crashlytics).
PostHog — privacy-conscious product analytics.
RevenueCat — subscription management.
Apple — App Store payments and Sign in with Apple.

How we use your data

To provide the app's features and sync your content (Pro).
To keep you signed in and secure your account.
To diagnose crashes and improve the app.
To manage your subscription and entitlements.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your cooking content for advertising, and we do not share it with advertisers.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your account data while your account is active. You can delete your account and its associated data at any time by emailing privacy@pinch.cooking. We will process deletion requests within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal obligations.

Children

Pinch is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@pinch.cooking.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the "last updated" date above.
